In July 2000, LCS set up a perpetual civilian legal clinic to provide free legal consultation service to disadvantaged minority groups, such as children, women, aborigines and low income households. The firm¡¦s attorneys provide telephone consultation or conduct a face-to-face interview for each case, and to date, free legal service for several hundred cases has been provided. In order to fundamentally educate disadvantaged minority groups who lack the financial ability to obtain legal resources and knowledge, the firm's attorneys have collected major issues encountered by many of the disadvantaged minority groups and published them in a special section on Law and Life on the firm's website.
In 2003, the firm set up the LCS & Partners Legal Thesis Award to encourage legal thesis writing by law students by granting scholarship awards and providing internship opportunities. The firm also sponsors and hosts various series of lectures and hosts debate competitions at several distinguished law schools or and university law departments. In 2008 the firm established the LCS Scholarship which is awarded annually to a number of disadvantaged students to seek advanced education. |
