| I. Establishment |
LCS & Partners was established in October, 1998 in Taipei, Taiwan. The initial founding members are Rich Lin, Amy Chin, Dr. Victor Su and David Chuang. Rich Lin is a lawyer and a CPA in Taiwan, and is specialized in M&A, tax law and trust law. David Chuang is specialized in securitization projects, M&A and corporate law. Dr. Su is specialized in M&A, investment, and banking. Amy Chin is specialized in international capital market and cross-border M&A. |
| II. Strategic Alliance |
In October 1999,
LCS formed strategic alliance with Deloitte & Touche
dire to In 2002, the alliance was terminated Sarbanes-Oxley
Act, considerations.
In 2005, LCS joined WSG (World Services Group),
and has been the exclusive Taiwan member law firm of the
WSG since 2005. |
| III. Members |
In the past eight years, Dr. Pijan
Wu, Margaret Huang, Lucia C.H. Yiou, Victor Chang, Mark
Harty, Brian Yu, Dean Chiang, Grace Ku and Bob Pan have joined
the firm respectively, extending our legal services from
merger & acquisition, capital market, cross-border investment,
asset securitization, real estate securitization, to
international business and trade law, assets sales and
acquisition, public construction projects, telecommunication
act, fair trade law, IP practice, financing, insurance,
private equity, derivative instruments, and trademarks. The LCS team
currently consists of more than 70 professionals and
staffs. |
| IV. Practice Areas |
LCS & Partners was first approved of its M&A practice in the UMC "five-in-one" merger project in 1999, and then came to represent many major companies in such deals. Now the practice areas of the firm include M&A, asset securitization, real estate securitization, Securities & Exchange Act / capital market, BOT projects, NPL, IP practice, tax planning and administrative litigation, science and technology law, private equity fund formation, structured finance, cross-border investment, insurance, derivatives and other commercial transactions and litigations. |

| VI. Legal Service Center - Pro Bono Service |
LCS Legal Service Center was established on July 15, 2000 to offer
free legal counseling to minority groups, such as women of low income and the disabled. Our partner, Margaret Huang, is in charge of the Center and the LCS attorneys volunteer to join the Center. The service time is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the first and third Saturday morning every month. With Margaret's passion and efforts, this Center has received many recognitions by the social welfare NGOs. |
| VII. LCS Scholarship |
To sponsor excellent legal talents, the firm has established the "LCS Legal Articles Competition Award" since 2003. Those who won such prize are entitled not only to scholarship but also to the opportunity of internship. |
